The Carrousel of the Nations is a community celebration with a remarkable history. For 35 years the festival is well-known as a joyful sharing of flavours, aromas, sights and entertainment. The Carrousel showcases our diverse culture and is always a unique experience and a memorable one.

The Carrousel of the Nations prides itself on its continued success of thirty-five years entertaining, enlightening and presenting ethnic food, arts and crafts, music and dance. Proud of its longevity and reputation the Carrousel has the distinction of being named one of the Top 100 Ontario Festivals by Festival & Events Ontario for the past two years.

This special anniversary is an occasion to focus on the Carrousel festival’s remarkable history. Celebration plans include the Multicultural Council partnering with local community organizations to produce two exciting projects:

• An exhibit of our community’s collective Carrousel memories is a joint venture with the Windsor Community Museum.
• A 35th Anniversary keepsake - a Carrousel Cookbook reflecting local ethno-cultural cuisine is a project with LEADERSHIP WINDSOR/ESSEX.

The 35th Anniversary celebration is also an opportunity to look to the future elevating the Carrousel experience to a higher level. On the first weekend Carrousel by the River will present a lineup of world-class entertainment as well as showcasing Windsor’s cultural diversity.

On the second and third weekends, enjoy Carrousel Around the City a celebration of food, music, dance and tradition located at different ethno-cultural “Villages” throughout the Windsor area. Take the family on a world tour without leaving town!

Planning is well underway and we are grateful for the efforts of:

• The Multicultural Council’s dedicated staff;
• The support of over 2,000 volunteers;
• Alliance with numerous artistic groups and performers; and
• The bond we have developed with the many cultural associations throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Through a wealth of experience gained from thirty-five years offering a family-friendly festival experience, the Carrousel Of The Nations 35th Anniversary – A Fusion Of Cultures will be an incredibly memorable experience!
